Justyna Borucka

Ph.D., Eng. Arch; Dipl Ing.(FH)), is an engineer and architect, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdansk University of Technology, Poland and the Vice-Dean for Development and Internationalisation of the Faculty of Architecture. She is also a coordinator of International Cooperation at the Faculty of Architecture GdaƄskTech and vice-president of Polish Architects Association (SARP o.Wybrzeze). She has been a visiting scholar at many European universities, recently visiting professor at Sapienza University of Rome (2016), Royal Danish Academy Kopenhagen (2018). She was a visiting expert to European Workshops among others on: Waterfront Urban Design (Lusófona University Lisbon) and many others. Her research interests include: theory of architecture and strategies for urban renewal with the special impact of interdisciplinary relationships in contemporary architecture and urbanism, design as an important stimulator in social, cultural, architectural and urban regeneration strategies, architectural education and gender studies. She has served on a number of policy advisory boards/working groups related to regeneration of public spaces and preservation of cultural and natural heritage in the context of XXI century development. She is conducting transdisciplinary research on urban regeneration within several international projects with partners from European countries. Author, co-author and expert of many international projects, currently involved, among others, in: SOS Climate Waterfront (2018-2023). She has also been collaborating with several cultural institutions (among others: Gdansk City Gallery, Baltic Cultural Center) and working for NGOs (Association City Initiative, Music Association Non Serio). She is the author and co-author of many scientific publications related to her research.
